Community
Welcome to the Prevention Network Community Services information page. Prevention Network/OCAA has been serving Syracuse and Onondaga County Alcohol and Drug Prevention needs since 1949. The agency started with a small group of committed citizens concerned about the needs of individuals and families confronting family alcohol problems alone.
Sixty-plus years later we remain true to that original purpose. Over the years, we adapted to improve our ability to respond effectively to the ongoing threat and impact of alcohol and other drug abuse and dependence on our community. Fortunately, Onondaga County provides a rich offering of caring and effective alcohol and other drug treatment providers. Prevention Network directly supports community residents looking for help by maintaining an accurate listing of NYS OASAS approved AOD evaluators and facilities, including payment options, to make certain individuals receive needed help.
All are welcome to call for a confidential conversation with a Professional Prevention Specialist, between the hours of 8:00AM-4:00PM Monday-Friday or and for a scheduled “face to face” consultation. If you are in the area between the hours of 8:30AM-4:00PM stop-in for an impromptu meeting with a Prevention Specialist, who will promptly serve you.
